Volleyball Recap: Hiawatha Gets the Win

Hiawatha won the last time they faced St. Marys and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Red Hawks came out on top against the Bears by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Hawks.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Hiawatha took both sets by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-12.

Brynnan Boye paced Hiawatha's offense, picking up five kills. Boye got some help from Adison Williams and her 15 assists. Michaela Williams and Kylie Nelson kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Hiawatha's victory bumped their record up to 10-18. As for St. Marys, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-27.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hiawatha will face off against rival Sabetha at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Marys is set to challenge their familiar foe Royal Valley on Thursday.
