The Roosevelt Rough Riders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 58-50 to Barberton. While losing is never fun, Roosevelt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while Barberton is ranked 88th).
Roosevelt's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Carter Foreman, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, and Gavin Peeps who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Dennison, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Roosevelt has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Barberton, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will square off against Streetsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Streetsboro is coming into the contest with three straight victories at home, so Roosevelt is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Barberton, they will head out on the road to face off against Revere at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Barberton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Revere likes a good challenge.
