Even though the Colony Titans scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, the Beaumont Cougars still came out on top. Beaumont had just enough and edged Colony out 60-58. Given Beaumont's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Colony is ranked 183rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Vince tracy Capuras, who scored 26 points along with 4 steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last three games he's played. Payton Joseph was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Beaumont's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Colony, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Beaumont will head out on the road to face off against Paloma Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Colony will be staying on the road on December 11th to face off against Villa Park at 4:30 p.m. on December 11th. Villa Park is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
