Tooele has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Murray Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Tooele had to suffer through a rough 81-52 loss at the hands of the Colts. While losing is never fun, Tooele can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Colts are ranked 29th).
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Murray's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. The contest between them and Cottonwood wasn't particularly close, with Murray falling 58-43.
Murray's loss came about despite a quality game from Treyce Wilson, who scored 14 points. Kaiden Nelson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Tooele has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Murray, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-6.
Tooele suffered a grim 69-48 defeat to the Spartans in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Murray's Quinton Christman, who scored 29 points along with three steals. Now that Tooele knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
