Basketball Game Preview: Front Range Baptist Falcons vs. Denver Waldorf Spartans

The Front Range Baptist Falcons will square off against the Denver Waldorf Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Front Range Baptist is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Front Range Baptist was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-37 to Campion Academy. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their defeat, Front Range Baptist saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ethan Pierce, who posted five points in addition to five rebounds and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. The dominant performance gave Pierce a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Nathan Jaques, who scored eight points along with six boards and five steals.

Even though they lost, Front Range Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 40 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Denver Waldorf's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Denver Jewish Day by a score of 42-39. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Front Range Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Denver Waldorf, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-3.

Front Range Baptist was able to grind out a solid victory over Denver Waldorf in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 59-50. Will Front Range Baptist repeat their success, or does Denver Waldorf have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
