After a string of four wins, the Central Private Redhawks's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were dealt a 73-44 loss at the hands of Northeast. Central Private has struggled against Northeast recently, as their match on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Brian Duncan was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with five steals for Northeast. The game was Duncan's 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeromone Sampson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Central Private's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-10. As for Northeast, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Private will take on False River at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. False River will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Northeast, they will head out on the road to face off against Southern Lab at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Southern Lab has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
