It was a good run, but the St. Thomas Aquinas Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost to Neumann-Goretti on the road by a decisive 68-51 margin.
Neumann-Goretti's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carryn Easley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 assists. Another player making a difference was Reginna Baker, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
St. Thomas Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Neumann-Goretti, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
St. Thomas Aquinas will be playing at home against South Brunswick at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neumann-Goretti won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Imhotep Charter at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th. Imhotep Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Neumann-Goretti is ranked 17th).
