Honaker has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Chilhowie Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Honaker knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Chilhowie likes a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Honaker gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They breezed by Patrick Henry at home to the tune of 89-16. Honaker's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Honaker's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tailor Nolley led the charge by scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Alayna McNulty, who scored 17 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, after only 21 points in their last match, Chilhowie made sure to put some points up on the board against Council on Wednesday. Chilhowie secured a 55-51 W over Council.
Honaker's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Chilhowie, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
Everything came up roses for Honaker against Chilhowie in their previous matchup on Tuesday as the squad secured a 69-21 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Honaker since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
