Palisades is a perfect 3-0 against East Mecklenburg since August of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Pumas are taking a road trip to take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Palisades' defense has only allowed 13.6 points per game this season, so East Mecklenburg's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Palisades is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 56-6 win over Rocky River. Given the Pumas' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Ravens are ranked 234th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palisades' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lincoln Wise, who rushed for 75 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards. The dominant performance also gave Wise a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Jamari Glover helped out on the ground, rushing for 90 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Palisades' defense stepped up as well, laying out David Echevarria three times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Kristopher Young and Donnovan Brown, who each picked up one sack apiece. Young got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, East Mecklenburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 48-0 loss at the hands of Ardrey Kell. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.
Palisades' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.0 points on average over those games. As for East Mecklenburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
Thursday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Palisades has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 206.1 rushing yards per game.
