The Tell City Marksmen's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against North Posey by a score of 45-37. For Tell City, this counts as revenge for the 48-31 loss North Posey walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Tell City found their leader in underclassman Reese Ford, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ollie Toothman, who scored nine points.
North Posey lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ella Weatherholt, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elle jo Johnson, who scored eight points along with five steals.
The win got Tell City back to even at 10-10. As for North Posey, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tell City will play host again and welcome Perry Central, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Posey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Forest Park at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
