It was a good run, but the Legacy Charter Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Halifax Academy 59-54. Legacy Charter was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Halifax Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2015.
Despite the defeat, Legacy Charter saw an underclassman step up: Jayden Richmond scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Kyle James, who scored seven points.
Legacy Charter's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8. As for Halifax Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road.
Legacy Charter and Trinity Prep will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Trinity Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Legacy Charter likes a good challenge. As for Halifax Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bridge to Independence at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Bridge to Independence focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
