The Vandercook Lake Jayhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 78-49 defeat at the hands of Hanover-Horton. Vandercook Lake has not had much luck with Hanover-Horton recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Luke Soper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hanover-Horton, shooting 5-for-9 from deep and dropping a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Soper has scored at least 25% of Hanover-Horton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Blackledge, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and three steals.
Vandercook Lake's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Hanover-Horton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vandercook Lake will be home for the holidays to greet Homer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Michigan (Homer is ranked 456th, while Vandercook Lake is ranked 470th). Hanover-Horton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Union City at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th.
