Alta (Sandy, Utah) bested Copper Hills (West Jordan, Utah) 63-6 while riding the arm of
Chipper Lucero, who tossed four touchdown passes.
The Hawks were up 42-6 at the half after taking the lead on a
Trevor Hill touchdown run in the first quarter.
Alta expanded its lead to 43 points entering the fourth quarter. AHS's lone score in the quarter came on a
Ammon Barker touchdown run.
Even though the Sandy school led by 43 points entering the fourth quarter, it poured the points on, scoring 14 in the fourth.
The Grizzlies' lone touchdown came on a 90-yard kick return by Tyler Smith in the second quarter.
Coming into the game the Hawks had allowed 26.9 points per game this year.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 51-0 win for Alta.
