The Ferndale Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They breezed by Laytonville on the road to the tune of 70-26. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Ferndale as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ferndale was led to victory by Thomas Fergison and Prescott Langer. Fergison scored 13 points, while Langer scored 16 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. Omar Amador was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Ferndale's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Laytonville, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Ferndale won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hoopa Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. As for Laytonville, they will be playing at home against Potter Valley at 8:00 p.m. on January 12th.
