The Churchill Chargers can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They put the hurt on SA Roosevelt with a sharp 54-30 victory. Winning may never get old, but Churchill sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Churchill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Daphne Zuniga out in front who scored ten points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Alina Hernandez, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the defeat, SA Roosevelt saw an underclassman step up: Maddison Castillo scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Churchill pushed their record up to 24-9 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for SA Roosevelt, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-24.
Coincidentally, Churchill and SA Roosevelt will both be playing Brandeis the next time they take the court. Churchill will head out to face Brandeis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while SA Roosevelt will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
