KIPP Atlanta Collegiate is 0-6 against Hapeville Charter since November of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
KIPP Atlanta Collegiate's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They breezed past Therrell to the tune of 33-0. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Panthers on their field since September 23, 2016.

Christopher Wilson had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 146 yards and a pair of scores. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate is 4-1 when Wilson posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawrence Moreland, who threw for 103 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something KIPP Atlanta Collegiate proved: they limited Therrell to a paltry two yards per carry. While two picked up at least seven total tackles, Jared Earley stood above the rest. He picked up three sacks and made seven total tackles (5.0 for loss). KIPP Atlanta Collegiate's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.8.
KIPP Atlanta Collegiate didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Travion Callaway, Cephas Barnette, and Edwin Williams picked up one apiece. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate got some further help from Earley: he picked up three sacks and made seven total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Hapeville Charter had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 21-0 win.
KIPP Atlanta Collegiate better keep an eye on Keylan Pope. He was instrumental in Hapeville Charter's win, throwing for 163 yards and three TDs, while also catching one score. Cedric Walker was Pope's top target, picking up 31 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 53 yards.
The victory got Hapeville Charter back to even at 4-4. As for KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
KIPP Atlanta Collegiate suffered a grim 45-25 defeat to Hapeville Charter when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Warriors, Kj Pope (who threw for 266 yards and one TD while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
