It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Peak to Peak had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Gunnison Cowboys. Considering the Pumas have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Owen Branscum was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 6.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Peak to Peak: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Cooper Campbell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Greene, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
