Rim of the World extended the longest winning streak in Mountain Valley this week by beating Desert Hot Springs, 42-28. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Banning moved up to 370 from 418 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Broncos climbed the ranks as a result of a 56-0 win over Coachella Valley.
Leighton Hernandez and Jacob Taylor gave Rim of the World a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Hernandez threw for 40 yards and one touchdown, while Taylor ran for 300 yards. Hernandez also contributed to the rushing game with 24 yards on the ground.
Baybra Edwards was the best wideout in the league this week as Banning bested the Arabs. Edwards tallied two receptions for 27 yards. Anthony Ellison helped Banning's passing attack out by catching two balls for 16 yards.
Notre Dame's Paul Bradvica and Zachary Kelvington have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Mountain Valley in both passing and receiving yards. Bradvica has thrown for 1064 yards this season, while Kelvington, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 20 catches for 287 yards. Taylor from Bob Gradillas's team leads the league in rushing with 1224 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Titans take on the Fighting Scots. Notre Dame is currently in fifth, while Rim of the World is in first.
John Stockham's team took down Coachella Valley 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Sty Hairston threw for 51 yards and ran for 174 yards in the win.
