For the first time this season, Little River Academy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. After each having a week off, they and the Rockdale Tigers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Little River Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Little River Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 49-30 win over Whitney last Friday. With that victory, the Bumblebees brought their scoring average up to 29 points per game.

Brian Grissom produced another solid performance rushing for 140 yards and three TDs, while also catching one score. Grissom is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 140 every time he's taken the field this season.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Little River Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 187 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Little River Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jayvion White and Josh Mann. Carter Kuhn was another major factor on D, making 19 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Rockdale strolled past Groesbeck with points to spare last Friday, taking the game 54-35.
A big part of Rockdale's win came down to the chemistry between Greyson Williams and his top target Deandre Stephens. Williams threw for 425 yards and three touchdowns while completing 74.1% of his passes while Stephens picked up 246 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Stephens really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 80 yards.
Little River Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Rockdale, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Little River Academy has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 320 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Rockdale has preferred to attack from the air: they average 327.6 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Little River Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Rockdale in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 42-35. Do the Bumblebees have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
