Kennedy Andre made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, East Palestine got a massive performance out of Sydney Jurjavcic, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave Jurjavcic a new career-high. Graycee Ford was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
East Palestine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Columbiana hit Southern with a nine-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians came up short against the Clippers, falling 12-2. The game marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Raelea Carosiello was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
Southern's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-7. As for East Palestine, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7.
East Palestine might still be hurting after the 13-5 loss they got from Southern when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
