Baseball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Braddock's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Braddock unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 8-5 to the True North Classical Academy Titans. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Manny Sanchez and Marcelo Torres stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sanchez scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3, while Torres went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Sanchez has posted since back in April of 2024. Brayan Martinez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Braddock suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 10-2-1. As for True North Classical Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Braddock and True North Classical Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Braddock will take on Killian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 146 places (64 vs. 210). Braddock will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive. Meanwhile, True North Classical Academy (ranked 45th) will meet Brito (ranked 329th) at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Braddock's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so True North Classical Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
