Newton-Conover is 10-0 against Lincolnton since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Newton-Conover Red Devils will take on the Lincolnton Wolves at 6:15 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Newton-Conover against West Caldwell as the team secured a 72-32 win. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Newton-Conover to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sara Sain, who dropped a triple-double on 12 points, 13 boards, and ten blocks. With that strong performance, Sain is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. Another player making a difference was Grayson Rowe, who went 6 for 10 en route to 16 points and three steals.
Newton-Conover smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 18 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Lincolnton entered their tilt with Patton on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Panthers 56-32. The Wolves pushed the score to 42-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers had little chance of recovering from.
Newton-Conover better focus on containing Curmiya Tillman and Sarah Rhyne as the pair were huge in Lincolnton's win. Tillman posted 16 points and six rebounds, while Rhyne had eight points and 14 boards. That's the most rebounds Tillman has posted since back in November of 2024. Nyla Johnson was another key player, putting up eight points.
Lincolnton pushed their record up to 11-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points per game. As for Newton-Conover, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
Everything came up roses for Newton-Conover against Lincolnton in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 68-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Newton-Conover since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
