Marquette Catholic hasn't had much luck against Freeburg recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Explorers will be playing at home against the Midgets at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Marquette Catholic is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let East Alton-Wood River get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Explorers considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Jack Pruitt was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Marquette Catholic is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 12-13 otherwise. Pruitt was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.
