Softball Recap: Westwood Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Westwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Maryvale Panthers on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their two-run performance the game before.

Lauren Cooper was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Navi Brinkerhoff, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

The victory got Westwood back to even at 6-6-1. As for Maryvale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westwood will host Mountain Ridge at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Maryvale, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Cesar Chavez at 3:45 p.m.
