Sunlake got themselves on the board against Wiregrass Ranch on Thursday, but Wiregrass Ranch never followed suit. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls, sneaking past 2-0. For the Seahawks, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Bulls walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Jacob Morgan looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lucas Zarlenga, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Tommy Hoye also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Sunlake now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Wiregrass Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Sunlake will square off against IMG Academy Black at 6:00 p.m. on February 28th. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they will venture away from home to square off against IMG Academy Gold at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Wiregrass Ranch has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
