Antelope has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Anthem Prep Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Antelope comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Antelope suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Thursday. They were dealt a 37-7 loss at the hands of Bagdad. That's two games in a row now that Antelope has lost by exactly 30 points.
Anthem Prep posted their biggest victory yet this season on Thursday. They blew past North Phoenix Preparatory Academy 48-19 at home. The win was just what Anthem Prep needed coming off of a 56-30 loss in their prior contest.
Antelope's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.2 points per game. As for Anthem Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season.
Antelope was able to grind out a solid victory over Anthem Prep when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 45-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Antelope since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
