TCAL Division II - District 5 (6 Man) recap Oct. 30, 2012
Cleburne Christian Academy extended the longest winning streak in TCAL Division II - District 5 (6 Man) this week by beating Weatherford Express HomeSchool, 65-30. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Aaron Midkiff and Aaron Midkiff gave Cleburne Christian Academy a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Midkiff threw for 196 yards and four touchdowns, while Midkiff ran for 262 yards. Teammate Jon Allen Balaban added to the ground attack by rushing for 62 yards.
Jacob Tankersley was the best wideout in the league this week as Weatherford Express HomeSchool fell to Jimmy Stanford's team. Tankersley racked up three receptions for 112 yards. Joseph McCanless helped Weatherford Express HomeSchool's passing attack out by catching two balls for 34 yards.
Cleburne Christian Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Midkiff has thrown for 1623 yards and 28 touchdowns this season, while Josh Bernardy has 45 catches for 906 yards. Midkiff also leads the league in rushing with 1515 yards.
Bernardy of the the Lions' is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 94 receiving yards in this week's game against Faith West Academy to get there.
Cleburne Christian Academy led TCAL Division II - District 5 (6 Man) in scoring this week after putting up 65 points on Tuck Silvey's team. Midkiff caught one passes for 10 yards in the win.
