Wilson (West Lawn, Pa.) extended its winning streak to six games with a 41-23 victory over
Hempfield (Landisville, Pa.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Matt Timochenko to
Bryce Pych in the second quarter, the Bulldogs were up 17-10 at the half.
Wilson expanded its lead to 17 points entering the fourth quarter. WHS scored two times in the third, including once on a field goal by
Hunter Rubright.
When the two teams played each other last season, the West Lawn school came away with a 56-6 victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Hempfield, who notched a 43-7 victory over J.P. McCaskey in its previous outing.
Hempfield (3-3) goes up against Cedar Crest in a Lancaster-Lebanon 1 game matchup next week, while Wilson (6-0) locks horns with Lancaster Catholic also in a Lancaster-Lebanon 1 game.
