Crescent Valley is 0-10 against Dallas since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Raiders will look to defend their home field against the Dragons at 5:00 p.m. Crescent Valley has given up an average of 12.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Crescent Valley is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They lost 14-7 to Silverton.
Ashley Howitt made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Abby Kessler, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Dallas came tearing into Friday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with a 10-3 victory. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Mahayla Benoit spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Dallas got a massive performance out of Maeve Woolsey, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That home run was Woolsey's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Harlow Nelson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Dallas pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Crescent Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Crescent Valley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Dallas struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Crescent Valley suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Dallas in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Raiders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
