The Franklin Academy Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Pine Crest Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Franklin Academy kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 56-36 walloping at the hands of David Posnack Jewish Day.
Robert Guishard put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Manny Toussaint was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Meanwhile, Pine Crest pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-55 to Somerset Academy Key.
Despite their loss, Pine Crest saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Rowan Hoffman, who scored 23 points, was perhaps the best of all. The game was Hoffman's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kareem Khouri, who scored 14 points.
Franklin Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Pine Crest, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
