Wortham is 1-9 against the Bulldogs since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wortham Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Dawson Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Wortham comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 93-5, which was the final score in Wortham's tilt against the Bulldogs last Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wortham has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Dawson was beaten by the Bulldogs 55-18 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Dawson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 845th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 243rd).
Wortham dropped their record down to 0-17 with that loss, which was their 22nd straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Dawson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-12.
Wortham was dealt a bruising 44-7 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Dawson's Callie Marberry, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Now that Wortham knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
