The Indian Creek Redskins will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Clairsville Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Indian Creek has three straight wins, St. Clairsville has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Indian Creek scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Harrison Central 61-35. Given Indian Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Harrison Central is ranked 718th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indian Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than McKenna Scott, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and eight steals. Scott is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Kylie Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, St. Clairsville came up short against Cambridge on Thursday and fell 56-43.
Indian Creek's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25 points. As for St. Clairsville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Indian Creek was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Clairsville when the teams last played back in January, winning 58-46. Does Indian Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Clairsville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
