If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Heritage Academy. They and Lee Academy go head to head on Friday at 7:00 PM in their first playoff game of the year. Heritage Academy strut in flaunting some offensive muscle with an average of 36.6 points per game.
Heritage Academy brought a four-game winning streak into their match against Canton Academy last Friday; they left with a five-game streak. Heritage Academy made easy work of Canton Academy and carried off a 49-26 victory. The lopsided score is just par for the course this season for Heritage Academy, who can brag about seven blowout wins.
Meanwhile, Lee Academy were the first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their contest against Indianola Academy. Lee Academy lost to Indianola Academy by a decisive 20-40 margin. Lee Academy were down by 13-40 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Heritage Academy's win lifted them to 8-2 while Lee Academy's defeat dropped them down to 3-6. We'll see if Heritage Academy's success rolls on or if Lee Academy are able to steal their positive momentum.
