Rye posted their biggest victory since February 3rd on Saturday. They breezed past the James Irwin Jaguars to the tune of 67-39. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 61-55 last Wednesday.
Isaiah Guzman was his usual excellent self, putting up 28 points along with six assists and five rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grant Clennin, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Rye was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as James Irwin only seven assists.
James Irwin's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan Kimble, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards. Kimble is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abdoulaye Ballo, who had eight points and nine boards.
Rye moved to 8-15 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for James Irwin, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20.
As of now, neither Rye nor James Irwin have any future games scheduled.
