Everything went Whitesboro's way against North Lamar on Friday as Whitesboro made off with a 48-25 victory. Colt Fagan was a one-man wrecking crew for Whitesboro as he threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 31 yards and a touchdown. Brayden Bomar also helped out with an impressive 94 receiving yards.
Whitesboro wouldn't let North Lamar keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Korbin Ross, Mason Scarbrough, and Austin Freeman picked up one apiece. Freeman didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble and made three total tackles.
Meanwhile, Bells didn't have quite enough to beat Pottsboro on Friday and fell 35-32.
Despite their defeat, Bells saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bryson Thompson, who rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Bryson Wright, who rushed for 100 yards on only seven carries.
Wright wasn't the only one working in the rushing yards department: Bells was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 187 rushing yards in 12 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Whitesboro came up short against Bells in their previous matchup back in September of 2023, falling 38-27.
