The Homestead Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Lynbrook 61-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lynbrook was led to victory by Dean Pakel and Mrinal Dwivedi. Pakel scored 24 points, while Dwivedi dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Pakel's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Marks, who scored nine points.
Homestead has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Lynbrook, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Santa Clara the next time they take the court. Lynbrook will host Santa Clara at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while Homestead will host them at 7:45 p.m. on January 16th.
