Mohawk Area gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener  on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the South Fayette Lions, sneaking past  6-5. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered  a  6-2  defeat the last time these two teams met.
 The team  relied heavily on  Addy Moskal, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alivia Hare, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-4.
South Fayette's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mohawk Area will host Seneca Valley  at 4:15  p.m.  on Friday. As for South Fayette,  a feisty cat fight will be fought as South Fayette Lions  challenge  Beaver Bobcats at 3:45  p.m.  on Monday.
