Overhills scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They breezed by Western Harnett at home to the tune of 67-30. That looming 67-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Overhills yet this season.
Overhills had a senior duo take command as Corshon Stewart scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals and Chauncy Kelly scored eight points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ej Stokes, who scored eight points.
Triton was handed a 22-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Pine Forest on Thursday. Triton came out on top in a nail-biter against Pine Forest and snuck past 60-57. The victory was just what Triton needed coming off of a 79-57 loss in their prior match.
It was another big night for Romello Pegues, who scored 25 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was B. J. Surles, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
The win got Overhills back to even at 5-5. As for Triton, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Overhills hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 53.6 points per game. However, it's not like Triton struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 58.1 points per game. The only thing between Overhills and another offensive beatdown is Triton. Will they be able to keep them contained?
