For the first time this season, Dexter will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will square off against the New Mexico Military Institute Colts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dexter will be strutting in after a win while New Mexico Military Institute will be coming in after a defeat.
On Monday, Dexter earned a 3-1 victory over Jal.
Dexter had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-11.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dexter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emily DeLaRosa, who had six kills, three digs, and two aces. What's more, DeLaRosa racked up 27 assists, the most she's had since back in September. Melody Duran was another key player, getting seven kills, five digs, three aces, and one block.
They weren't the only good servers: Dexter was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, New Mexico Military Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Hot Springs.
While New Mexico Military Institute was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23, 25-17.
Dexter's record now sits at 12-5. As for New Mexico Military Institute, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
