It was a good run, but the Davenport Wolves unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 60-48 to Boerne. Davenport has not had much luck with Boerne recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Davenport still got an impressive performance from Brandon Castilla, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Castilla has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Cameron Gaston was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Boerne was led to victory by Casen Hoegemeyer and Hank Hendrix. Hoegemeyer scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Hendrix scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hendrix has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Holland, who scored 11 points.
Davenport's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Boerne, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.
Davenport will head out on the road to challenge Wimberley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wimberley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 64.1 points per game. As for Boerne, they will be playing at home against Bandera at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bandera is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
