This season hasn't been kind to the Needville Bluejays, who are still winless after their 15th match. They were beaten by Royal 59-17 on Friday. Needville has struggled against Royal recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Royal got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nevaeh Houston out in front who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and six steals. Houston is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Layla Anderson, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Needville's loss was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-15. As for Royal, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Wharton the next time they take the court. Needville will host Wharton at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, while Royal will head out to face them at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
