The Sudan Hornets will face off against the New Home Leopards at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Sudan was handed a 23-run  defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene  last Saturday. They skirted past Crosbyton  11-9. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hornets needed considering they were shut out in their previous   contest.
 Andrea Williams was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Reyna Limon-Johnson, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in both of her plate appearances.
 Sudan  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .682. They are undefeated (7-0) when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, New Home can  bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game  last Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  an  8-6  victory over Borden County. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Leopards have posted  since February 22, 2024.
 The team  relied heavily on  Molly Maberry, who  scored two  runs and  stole  Two bases. while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Khyler Rodriguez, who  went 2-for-3 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 Sudan is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6-1 record  this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.0 runs over those games. New Home's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.
 Sudan took their  win against New Home  in their previous meeting  back in February of 2023 by a conclusive  18-4. Does  Sudan have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Home turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
