The Springfield Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Memorial Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Springfield is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
Springfield took a 12-run loss the last time they faced off against Lowellville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Tigers won by a run and slipped past the Rockets 11-10.

Olivia Allen was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Kaylee Lanterman also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Allen wasn't the only one making solid contact: Springfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for the Tigers: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 11.
Meanwhile, Memorial didn't have quite enough to beat Lowellville on Monday and fell 12-11.
Ramani Adams was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and ten unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Mileena Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole four bases while going 3-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emily Cleland, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Memorial has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Springfield, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Springfield has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Memorial struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Springfield suffered a grim 13-5 defeat to Memorial in their previous meeting on April 1st. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
