Steele won against San Marcos last Friday with two runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Knights beat the Canyon Cougars by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-1. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 5-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Steele is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Canyon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Steele will have a chance to go back-to-back against Canyon: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
