The Peekskill Red Devils scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took down Edgemont 45-30. The win was just what Peekskill needed coming off of a 55-28 defeat in their prior matchup.
Peekskill found their leader in underclassman Amari Murphy, who scored 26 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Murphy has scored at least 25% of Peekskill's points. Another player making a difference was Jealina Searight, who scored six points along with seven steals.
Peekskill is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Edgemont, they bumped their record down to 0-1 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peekskill will face off against Brewster at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Edgemont, they will head out on the road to face off against The Leffell School at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
