The Caney Creek Panthers suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 44-23 walloping at the hands of Conroe. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Caney Creek in their matchups with Conroe: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Caney Creek still got an impressive performance from Yeiry Zamudio, who scored 11 points.
It was another big night for Alisa Sneed, who scored 13 points along with six steals for Conroe. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Smith, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Caney Creek has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Conroe, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season.
Caney Creek will head out on the road to square off against Grand Oaks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Grand Oaks focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Conroe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Willis at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Willis is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
