The St. Johns Classical Academy Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 55-42 to Christ's Church Academy. St. Johns Classical Academy lost against Christ's Church Academy in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 70-19 score last time.
Christ's Church Academy found their leader in underclassman Caleb Roof, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Simms, who scored eight points along with four steals.
St. Johns Classical Academy bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.8 points per game. As for Christ's Church Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-7.
St. Johns Classical Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Cornerstone Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Christ's Church Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Old Plank Christian Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
