The High Point Academy Grizzlies will head out to square off against the Landrum Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in High Point Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 20 matchups.
Landrum better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when High Point Academy really get things going. High Point Academy was the clear victor by a 71-46 margin over Liberty on Friday. The Grizzlies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

High Point Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaden McNeil, who posted ten points along with five assists and five steals. McNeil has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Jerry Jones was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.
High Point Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 16 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Landrum waltzed into their match on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They had just enough and edged the Eagles out 74-71. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since December 3, 2024.
High Point Academy better keep an eye on Benett Edwards. He was instrumental in Landrum's win, going 10 for 14 en route to 26 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds. With that strong performance, Edwards is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Dodd, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 19 points.
Landrum pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for High Point Academy, their record is now 21-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: High Point Academy has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31 boards per game. However, it's not like Landrum struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything went High Point Academy's way against Landrum in their previous matchup back in January, as High Point Academy made off with a 76-52 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for High Point Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
