Softball Recap: Manor Drops Highest Score of Season Against Mcneil

Manor scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 24-12 to the McNeil Mavericks. Even if the Mustangs couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Andrea Ovalle stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Sarah Ovalle was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Manor dropped their record down to 1-10 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for McNeil, they moved to 4-8-1 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manor will venture away from home to face off against Round Rock Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on March 25th. Manor has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for McNeil, they will take on Cedar Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. Cedar Ridge will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something McNeil surely won't give up without a fight.
