The Park School of Buffalo Pioneers will head out on the road to face off against the St. Mary's Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Park School of Buffalo has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 4.
The Park School of Buffalo pushed their score all the way to 65 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 97-65 defeat at the hands of Bishop Timon-St. Jude. While losing is never fun, The Park School of Buffalo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 349th, while the Tigers are ranked 20th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brandon Singleteary, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Jarrell Green was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's blew past the Huskies, posting a 73-35 win at home. 73 seems to be a good number for St. Mary's as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Griffin Smith and Israel Wilson were among the main playmakers for St. Mary's as the former scored 11 points along with two steals and the latter scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Corcoran, who scored seven points along with two steals.
The Park School of Buffalo's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12. As for St. Mary's, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the pair are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. The Park School of Buffalo hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56 points per game. However, it's not like St. Mary's struggles in that department as they've been averaging 57.6 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
The Park School of Buffalo came up short against the Lancers in their previous meeting back in January, falling 56-47. Can The Park School of Buffalo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
